The design looks great and it is needed to open up future growth for the area.

I can see why people are afraid to do this. But, the benefits outweighs the numerous "what if" arguments. With minimum roads that lead from I-15 to the the west side of the lake, it's a no-brainer. My husband and I came from the New Orleans area. There is a large lake north of the city Lake Pontchatrain that has a causeway that is almost 24 miles long. It hasn't decreased the beauty of the lake. They charge a toll only for southbound crossing, (people driving to New Orleans for work). We would drive on the Causeway just for fun, to sightsee. When my husband got a job in Provo (we grew up in Utah) we were going to live in Saratoga Springs. When we were on the verge of closing on home there, we found a perfect place in Provo. What made our decision easy was the travel time to my husband's job. IF there were a bridge across Utah Lake, we may be living in Saratoga Springs now. How can we overpower Utah Valley Earth Forum? Their sight has links to directly contact state and local politicians to voice your opposition. They have all the contacts, links, and followers. Even a petition. Let's get this going! I'm sure there are plenty of people who care about our environment, but also see a need to have adequet trasportation for Utah. We need to get through the red-tape and keep Utah moving to the next level. It's growing rapidly, becoming a very desirable place to live and work. We can't keep building homes, communities, and jobs without the means to drive without all the congestion. We have ample space, not like older cities that didn't forsee or plan for such growth. We can do something now to build roads, highways, and bridges while we have space, before the space is taken over by homes and buildings. It's now or never.
